NEW BULL PEN  Commenced 2 Nov 2010
To finish off all the major works a 3 lane bull pen is being constucted.  Thanks to a bobcat, Walshys sore back and John's love of   Honk's vibrating wacker it is really taking shape.  Mobil are kicking in for the fencing later this week.
So now along with the best grounds to play on The RAMS will now have some of the best training infrastructure.
Check out the pics below:

17-Sept-2010                                The day after Bob's 83rd birthday and things are almost done and the gravel road is gone
John enjoys using the vibrating plate a bit to much... Excavating the gravel road into spectator hills junior training turns into a rock collecting working bee
13-Sept-2010  The removal of the gravel road has commenced, the new scorers box and dugouts have also received a coat of paint.
5-Sept-2010    With just one more load of en-tout-cas to come  Bob's new field is on track for the opening of the summer season
10-Aug-2010  After a very productive working bee laying 30 metres on en-tout-cas, the next job was to roll it down making a firm playing surface

A Pre-season working bee held on 8 Aug was a great success with over 20 people turning up ready to work.  As can bee seen from the pics below a lot was achieved, approximately 30 metres of new en-tout-cas was laid on Bob's Field.  Approximately 20 metres of granitic sand was laid on and around Bob's Field to upgrade spectator and players dug out areas.  Sleepers were laid, the new score box was cleaned ready for painting and Steve & Honk sorted a drainage issue outside the work shop.   Overall it was a great display of club spirit to improve our facilities, roll on season 2010-11...

MAIN DIAMOND SPECTATOR AREAS GET A MAKE OVER
Working Bee  -  Saturday 19th June
Once again a great turnout for the 2nd working bee of the 2010 winter.  The main job to be undertaken was an over-haul of the spectator areas for the main diamond.  In all a total of 13 metres of granitic sand was shovelled and shifted and 16 railway sleepers were laid down.  4 new bollards were put in the ground coming out from the canteen window so overall some really great work was completed.
In the week before John & Walshy got digging and with the assistance of a dingo hired through Gav, so together with the following workers a great deal was achieved: Angry, Combo, Tyler, Honk, Dean, Scot, Troy, Peter K, Lel, Stotty, Bobby, John & Walshy.
CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS BELOW:
11 June 2010   -   The first bit of dirt gets turned as the old concrete from the original batting nets gets moved.

Working Bee  - 3 July 2010

Despite a disappointing turnout a lot was achieved which is a credit to the 6 that did turn up to work: Sash, Combo, Tyler, John, Walshy & Bobby.

The spectator areas for the main diamond are now completed other than som cosmetic work on the spectator hills.  Now onward to the next job....
