NEWPORT 17 defeated COLAC 0

Yesterday the firsts ventured down the freeway for our longest road trip to Colac. 

With a mix of youth and experience making the trip we got off to great start putting up 4 in the first. We continued to put up curly numbers with 2 in the second, 4 in the third, 2 in the fourth and 5 in the fifth while keeping Colac off the score board.

The offence was led by Jayde Thorne picking up 4 hits and 4 RBI's while Jake Vanderlinde 3 and 1, Zac Seipolt 2 hits, Tim Reid 1 and 2, Connor Schibeci 2 and 1, Mitchy Clemo 2 and 2 and Justin Charles 3 RBI's while Harun Pelja and Mason Condie had quality at bats without getting the desired result for the hard work.

Our defence was led by Harun Pelja and Tim Reid up the middle making all the plays that came to them and turning a slick double play.
Big thanks to Shane Comben for coming down and coaching third base for us.

Great start to the season in 3 games putting up 39 runs.

Hard work is paying off but doesn't stop.
