The Newport Rams Women’s Program is built to be welcoming, positive and empowering for every player, no matter their age, experience or skill level. Our goal is simple. Create a space where women can enjoy baseball, push their potential and be part of a community that feels genuinely supportive.

The last few seasons have been outstanding for our women’s program. Premier League Champions and Premier Reserve Runners Up in 24/25, Premier League Runners Up and Premier Reserve Champions in 23/24, and Division 2 Champions in 22/23. These achievements reflect the dedication, talent and drive of the incredible athletes who lead the way on and off the field.

Beyond high-performance results, we are proud to field a third team each year in Metro League. This team is perfect for players who want a fun and active way to stay fit, build confidence, meet new people and be part of our wider club community. It is baseball with heart and laughter, shared with teammates and families who bring amazing energy to the club.

Our ideal future sees Newport with four women’s teams, one in each competition, giving every player the chance to compete at the level that best suits their skills, goals, availability and lifestyle. It is about opportunity, growth and keeping the Rams spirit strong across the entire women’s program.

After re-establishing our women’s program in the summer of 2020/2021, our mission has been to build the most inclusive and supportive environment possible, where every player has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Newport is committed to delivering a baseball experience that works for everyone. Whether you have represented Australia, are an emerging young talent or are simply looking for a fun and active way to meet new people, learn new skills and stay healthy, our program is designed to adapt to your needs. Our athletes range from 13 to 50 plus and are united by their passion for the sport and the community surrounding it.

The program continues to attract and develop exceptional talent. This includes former Australian Emerald Leslie Anglin, who was a foundation player when the women’s program returned, and a growing group of State Team representatives. Our 2025 athletes include Ruby Dale (Vic), Shiori Hoshino (Qld), Kira Jansen (Vic), Mackenzie Prentice Evans (Vic), Saeko Suzuki (Vic), Kira Kuwamoto (Vic), Paula Doherty (Vic), Isy Zurawel (Vic Youth) and Ebony Sutherland (Qld). Training and competing alongside players of this calibre creates a powerful learning environment and inspires every member of the program to elevate their game.
