Newport opened the scoring early before the Wolves briefly took the lead in the first. The Rams hit back in the third, with Hardy launching a home run to left field on a full count to level the game. Momentum swung firmly Newport’s way in the fourth when Schumann drove in the go-ahead run with a timely single, and the Rams never looked back.

On the mound, Morrison was outstanding, striking out 10 batters over six innings while allowing just three runs (one earned). At the plate, Newport finished with 16 hits, led by Hashimoto’s 3-for-6 performance, with Schumann, Romo, Honjo and Hardy all contributing multiple hits in a strong team effort.
